Centuries of herbalists have favored lavender essential oil for its cleansing properties. In medieval France, lavender buds were used to launder linens. Even today, lavender sachets are tucked into drawers and linen cupboards to freshen fabrics. Aromatherapy practitioners use lavender to treat insomnia, nervousness, and exhaustion. The scent of lavender induces lucidity, calm and restfulness.
