If a cleaner, healthier home is important to you, check out the innovative, environmentally friendly products at VacShack. The boutique-style store is truly a family affair run by Steve Fuhrman, his wife Jeanie Jones, and their nephew Shon Ashcraft.

The trio shares a passion for providing their customers with environmentally safe cleaning products that are effective and that fit their individual needs. They offer products from vacuum cleaners and supplies to cleaning products and air purifiers and will work with customers to find the products perfectly suited to them.

“We don’t advise our customers to buy the most expensive machine we offer,” said Fuhrman. “We advise them to purchase the one that fits their needs based on the types of flooring they have.”

VacShack carries two lines of vacuum cleaners, Miele and Sebo, both made in Germany. They will last 10-15 years according to Fuhrman and both offer unique machines that will work with a variety of flooring types, including one machine that can sense when you move from carpet to hard flooring and adjusts itself automatically.

They carry Bio Clean cleaning products, which are 100 percent all natural, highly effective, and cost less than cleaners that you purchase at the big box retail stores. Fuhrman says they don’t sell any products that they have not personally tested.

“We test all the products we sell,” he said. “We don’t sell it if we haven’t taken it home and tested it ourselves. This way we can tell our customers exactly how to use it; and that’s not always the way it tells you on the directions.”

Fuhrman said, “Sometimes manufacturers suggest using more of the product than is necessary and that by having first hand knowledge of everything we sell, we can direct customers the best way to use it.”

VacShack carries Bona products, which are environmentally friendly and are wonderful for cleaning hardwood floors without harming them, Fuhrman said.

Allergy and asthma sufferers will love IQAir air purifiers, which were featured on a recent episode of Extreme Home Makeover. They have won numerous awards for their air purifying technology, which is extremely effective and can create clean air environments for the most sensitive allergy and asthma sufferers.

Fuhrman has been in the vacuum business since 1995. After marrying an Oklahoma girl, Fuhrman and his wife moved their business from California to Warr Acres early this year.

“Warr Acres has the lowest sales tax in the state, and we made sure we located our store in Warr Acres because we want to support our small town,” Fuhrman said.

Oklahoma also gives VacShack.com a central location from which to ship internet orders.

According to Fuhrman, Miele vacuum cleaners are premiere vacuums that perform above Kirby or Rainbow but are less expensive. They last for 20-25 years and have certified HEPA filtration systems.
